2026 Operation Safe Driver Week
The CVSA has announced the dates for the 2026 Operation Safe Driver Week,
which will take place from July 12th to July 18th. This safety initiative
concentrates on identifying and mitigating reckless, careless, and
dangerous driving behaviors. Key areas of focus include speeding,
distracted driving, seat belt usage, and unsafe lane changes. The goal of
Operation Safe Driver Week is to promote safer driving practices and
reduce accidents involving commercial vehicles and passenger cars alike.
Waiver to Allow Paper Medical Cards Extended
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has announced they
are extending the waiver to continue to allow the use of a paper
copy of the medical examiner’s certificate as proof of the driver’s
medical certificate until October 11, 2026. This waiver applies to
drivers with a CDL and CLP (Commercial Learner’s Permit) and allows
them to use the paper copy up to 60 days after the issue date.
